Reindeer Blame

Anytime a group of people is isolated from the rest of the world, there are bound to be problems — especially if these folks are in close quarters. Take the family road trip (and the inevitable arguments about where and when to eat) as an example. Or the situation with Santa and his peeps at the North Pole. Sure, we like to think it's all carols and gingerbread up there all of the time, but that's unrealistic and just untrue. Santa and his helpers disagree occasionally — he is the boss, after all, and no one likes the boss — and sometimes these disagreements are a little more serious. Most recently, Santa has been accused of sexual harassment by one of the reindeer! Girl, it's a scandal! But did he do it? And will the truth ever come out? Get to HotCity Theatre's production of The Eight: Reindeer Monologues by Jeff Goode to get the scoop. The comedy is presented at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 3 and 8 p.m. on Saturday, and 7 p.m. on Sunday (December 3 through 19) at the Kranzberg Arts Center (501 North Grand Boulevard). Tickets to the irreverent holiday show, which is not for kids by the way, cost $15 to $25 (at 314-289-4063 or www.hotcitytheatre.org).
Thursdays-Sundays. Starts: Dec. 3. Continues through Dec. 19, 2009
