The amazingly talented kids in the St. Louis Arches circus troupe -- can they all do a back tuck? Sheesh! -- brighten up any event at which we’ve seen them. Maybe that’s because of the group’s aforementioned collective talent, but another part of the reason probably lies in the fact that these kids’ smiles are contagious. They are truly having fun -- crazy, tumbling, balancing fun. And now, the Arches get to spread their enthusiasm and show off their skills on the other side of the world, because they have been invited to do a residency in Israel with an Arab-Israeli youth circus group. Support our diplomatic acrobats by helping them raise money for their trip at the Arches to Israel Benefit, happening today from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Central Reform Congregation (5020 Waterman Boulevard). There will be popcorn, cotton candy, shows, workshops and more, and your $5-to-$10 admission (or more, if you’re so inclined) will help out more than you know. Call 314-436-7676 or visit for more information.
