Ruby Tuesday

The story goes that this burger and pasta joint is named after the Rolling Stones song, and the story is true; the song title was suggested to the company's founder by a fellow investor. The Tennessee-based mega-chain, which operates nearly 900 restaurants in St. Louis and other cities, got its start near the University of Tennessee's Knoxville campus in 1972 and initially grew by opening eateries in shopping malls. Since switching to stand-alone locations, it has become one of the country's better-known casual dining groups; in 2012, Ruby Tuesday bought the Lime Fresh Mexican Grill chain. One can design a custom burger here, and the most-ordered Tuesday sandwich is a blue cheese-topped hunk of meat on a whole-wheat bun.
