Sammy Hagar and the Wabos

7 p.m. Thursday, July 1. Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, 14141 Riverport Drive, Maryland Heights.

July 4 might be the officially recognized Independence Day holiday, but St. Louisans will certainly be starting the celebration early this year. Yes, that's right, Sammy Hagar and the Wabos is coming back to town. Fans know what to expect from the Red Rocker by now — a mix of Montrose, Van Halen and solo hits — although since he's working on a solo album, new tunes are a possibility. Hagar's also reportedly working on his autobiography, which should be perfect beach-reading material — perhaps while sipping on a margarita made with his own brand of tequila.
