Schaeffer on Schäfer 

Christine Schäfer is considered one of the more versatile soprano voices to come out of Germany. Her skilled interpretations of everything from baroque music to modern opera have led her to stages across Europe and America, and she even was the lead in the Metropolitan Opera's recent production of Hansel and Gretel. Schäfer makes a special appearance tonight at the Saint Louis Art Museum in Forest Park with a program entitled A Winter's Journey. Schäfer will give a performance of Winterreise, Franz Shubert's song cycle that was based on a series of poems by Wilhelm Müller.
