There is a certain relentlessness that comes with Serena-Maneesh. Norway's latest import is not for the faint of ear. No, they require commitment, they require dedication, they volunteer the shy scenester to be smothered with sound. They will placate no desire for rests; instead, their electric guitars will forge on through every metronomic breath that dares be drawn. With haunting female vocals weaving in and out with no measure, and distortion so deliberate it sounds frightfully unfamiliar, the listener grasps that Serena-Maneesh's structure is their non-structure. In fact, it is all one great experiment to see if lungs can breathe sound.
