She's Crafty

Lately, Ms. Day has had a creative streak going. She bought a crafting book from the 1970s (titled Crafts for Fun and Profit) — and she's thought about doing a few of the projects. Hey, it's a first step! But this weekend she's really going to get down to business when she participates in the Stained-Glass Sun Catchers Two-Day Workshop held at the Craft Alliance (6640 Delmar Boulevard, University City; 314-725-1177). The classes last from 1 to 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday (July 22 and 23), and by the time it's all said and done, Ms. Day will have created a stunning object with which to capture the beautiful, natural rays that emanate from our planet's closest star. Sounds much cooler than just decoupaging some old vase, huh? To join Day in her quest for a completed project and to sign up for the $45 workshop, visit www.craftalliance.org. And let's just hope that after class, Day's clumsy streak doesn't take over and cause her to fall and break her pretty, pretty sun catcher on the way home.
