Ska Fest V

4 p.m. Saturday, August 19. Creepy Crawl (3524 Washington Boulevard).

Now that the cult of emo is apparently beginning to show signs of disintegrating — perhaps as its fans enter high school and discover the Smiths? — what genre's next in line for resurrection? Why, this writer believes it's ska, of course! The fifth installment of the area's skanking-heavy event (appropriately called Ska Fest V) features locals Disturbing Lou and BAMF, along with out-of-towners the Hoodlums, 80HD and the Rum Runners. Find out more information at the fest's official Web site, www.ska-fest.com.
