Skin You Love to Touch (keep her where she belongs)

Uploaded by Katryn Dierksen
A Kranzberg Arts Foundation exhibition by Moody Rose Christopher (Brooklyn, NY) and Katryn Dierksen (St. Louis, MO). In this multi-media installation, the artists explore the role of housewives as it has been handed down, distorted, and commodified into the digital era. Dierksen’s digital illustrations of feminine figures, bodies lost in pixelation and visual white noise, are printed on fabrics and household items. Moody Rose Christopher’s paintings and sculptures intensify this domestic-consumer space. Rose constructs paintings using colorful abstracted figures and shapes with jarring gold glitter that nestle between visual chaos and harmony.
