Soul Position/One Be Lo

Friday, April 21, at 9 p.m. Blueberry Hill's Duck Room (6504 Delmar Boulevard, University City)

Columbus, Ohio, hip-hop artists RJD2 and Blueprint certainly aren't hurting for work. Everyone from El-P to Massive Attack has enlisted the former for production and remixes, while the latter has a well-received solo career and the group Greenhouse Effect to keep him busy. Together, however, the two comprise the Golden Age-style duo Soul Position, and as their sophomore album's title attests, Things Go Better with RJ and Al — especially when Blueprint's threatening to boycott BET (and rap stereotypes) over one of RJ's vintage-R&B-fueled beats. They'll do it live Friday, with Michigan rhymer One Be Lo (a KRS-One disciple and former member of the group Binary Star) opening.
