In 2018 Six Flags St. Louis held a “Coffin Challenge”, where 6 contestants had to remain in a coffin for 30 hours in order to win $300, a season pass, and the coffin they were confined to. The winners included a local wrestler, Kahyman (formerly known as Rammstein), and Olivia Crabtree, a SLU undergrad student & sorority member at the time. Kahyman offered to buy Olivia’s coffin for $100, and since the coffin would have been a tough fit for her dorm room, she happily obliged. The two began a friendship after their shared coffin experience, and both have kept in contact ever since.
Kahyman utilized the prize coffins over the weekend for a headlining “Coffin Match” against the MMWA Heavyweight Champion Benjamin “Mr. Extraordinary” Trust at South Broadway Athletic Club. Popularized by The Undertaker, the wrestler wins the match by completely concealing their opponent in one of the coffins. Kahyman came out the victor (until he was ambushed by Trust and other wrestlers), Olivia was reunited with her coffin, and the two friends were able to catch up and reflect on their time in a casket.
For decades, wrestling at South Broadway Athletic Club has been one of the best cheap thrills you can find in St. Louis. The matches are always entertaining, and inflation hasn’t hit their bar yet where $2.00 draft beers are constantly flowing. You can checkout their wrestling schedule on their Facebook page
