A record of Sir Ernest Shackleton's Antarctic expedition of 1914-17. After his ship, The Endurance, was trapped and crushed by polar ice, Shackleton and his 27-member crew spent nearly two years in the roughest weather on earth, surviving against impossible odds. Yet as Shackleton later wrote, Not a life was lost and we have been through Hell.
