St. Lou Fringe Five-Fifths

At first, young Marie Antoinette was beloved by the people of France, but her let-them-eat-cake attitude toward the starving citizens guaranteed her a place at the guillotine, where the people helped themselves to an altogether different last course -- a slice of the queen. St. Lou Fringe's Five-Fifths: The Life and Times of Marie Antoinette tells the entire classic story of the Austrian-born French queen in a multi-disciplinary, independent arts showcase enacted by five different groups: Lonely Mountain String Band, Common Thread Dance Company, St. Louis Osuwa Taiko, the Players Project and a surprise guest. Lola Van Ella hosts, and admission includes an after-show party with operatic rockers Marie and the French Kisses, a head-spinning set by DJ Whiz, live body painting, a gallows art show -- and plenty of cake.
