St. Louis Blues vs. Florida Panthers

The NHL's expansion over the decades has brought teams to locales that don't seem to warrant the honor. On the other hand, what higher end could possibly be served by denying anyone, anywhere, the blessing and beneficence of live ice hockey? None, Pavel. And so we have a state like Florida, of all places, with its own two NHL franchises. Florida. Hockey. Go figure. Nevertheless, celebrate hockey's reach by attending tonight's game between our St. Louis Blues vs. the Florida Panthers. The Blues reversed their tailspin of earlier in the season and have been skating like goal-harvesting speed demons of late.

7 p.m. Mon., Dec. 8. Scottrade Center (1401 Clark Avenue; 314-622-5400 or www.blues.nhl.com). $38.25 to $295.50.
Mon., Dec. 8, 7 p.m., 2014
