In the pantheon of St. Louis celebrities, the late Stan Kann ranks as one of the most beloved and eccentric. The former Fox Theatre organist appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson a whopping 77 times while starring in various TV shows for over three decades. When he wasn't tickling the ivories, the king of the console presided over the nation's largest private collection of vacuum cleaners. The Missouri History Museum celebrates his achievements with a screening of the 2005 documentary, Stan Kann: The Happiest Man in the World, as part of the History On The Side programming.

Noon Tue., Dec. 9. Missouri History Museum (Lindell Boulevard and DeBaliviere Avenue; 314-746-4599 or www.mohistory.org). Free admission.
