Student Bodies

End-of-term ceremonies can be tedious, but if you're a student from the Van Ella Studios, rest assured that everybody appreciates an invitation to the Van Ella Studios Student Showcase Spectacular! Van Ella Studios specializes in burlesque education, and students are expected to show their work. The new crop of graduates from the advanced class shimmies and struts their stuff at 9 p.m. tonight at 2720 Cherokee (2720 Cherokee Street; 314-610-1649 or www.vanellastudios.com). The newbies are joined by their instructors (Greta Garter, Ami Amore, Boozie-Q and Deirdre Doll) and headmistress Lola Van Ella -- the Derriere Beyond Compare -- herself. Admission is $15.
