Super Human Strength

It's what's inside that counts

Though Newton's third law — that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction — was meant to apply only to matters of physics, it seems to hold true in other situations as well. For example, with every campaign of tyranny, dictatorship and genocide, there is an uprising of solidarity, hope and courage. Eric Greitens has been all over the world documenting his observations of human resilience and perseverance, and he shares his essays and photographs about these experiences in the book Strength & Compassion, which includes a foreword from Paul Rusesabagina (pictured). Rusesabagina's story was the inspiration for the film Hotel Rwanda, and he will be joining Greitens at the Missouri History Museum (Lindell Boulevard and DeBaliviere Avenue) tonight for a free presentation and book-signing. The event begins at 6 p.m.; for more information call 314-746-4599 or visit www.mohistory.org. And to learn more about the book and its author, visit www.ericgreitens.com, and check out what RFT staff writer Kristen Hinman wrote about Greitens earlier this year here.
