The Muny season comes to a close

Today's youths mistakenly think that musicals aren't for them (except for High School Musical, but they won't admit that they're still into it). These young 'uns probably don't even know that they already are familiar with songs from, say, Fiddler on the Roof, thanks to the Magnetic Fields and Gwen Stefani (both have covered "If I Were a Rich Man," the latter only kinda) and Bright Eyes (a version of "Sunrise, Sunset" is on Fevers and Mirrors). Set in czarist Russia in 1905, Fiddler follows the lives of Jewish family members — some of whom are trying to embrace more modern culture while others are holding onto traditions (timelessly familiar, huh?) — as their entire community faces persecution.
