Symphony Chaco: A Journey of the Spirit

Over 200 musicians from UMSL and STLCC Meramec will join forces with Native American flutist R Carlos Nakai to perform "Symphony Chaco: A Journey of the Spirit." Inspired by the his many travels to Chaco Canyon, New Mexico, composer Gary Gackstatter wrote the symphony and will feature a number of activities leading up to the performance, including the annual Pow Wow at the Washington University Field House. All events are free and open to the public. Lectures, films, workshops are Saturday/Sunday, April 21,22, at the STLCC Meramec Campus and are free to the public. The concert will include narrators Deborah Taffa and William Least Heat Moon as well as projected photography animated by the STLCC Graphics students.
