Taking Back Sunday

Friday, April 14, at 8 p.m. Pop's (1403 Mississippi Avenue, Sauget, Illinois)

Along with screamo kingpins Thursday, Taking Back Sunday were one of the first mainstreamo success stories for Victory Records: The Long Island band's 2004 CD, Where You Want to Be, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard charts and spawned a bona-fide radio hit in "A Decade Under the Influence." But like countless other bands of their ilk, TBS has jumped to a major label for the upcoming Louder Now, which is accordingly a poppier endeavor filled with bigger guitars, more gloss and plenty of angst to make the MySpace crowd pogo like mad.
