Talkin' 'Bout Sci-Fi

RiffTrax Live: Starship Troopers is your chance to catch the comedic crew of Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett doing the schtick they honed for years on Mystery Science Theater 3000 -- providing wisecracking commentary for B-movies -- in a nationwide live simulcast on the big screen tonight at 7 p.m. at the AMC Chesterfield 14 (291 Chesterfield Mall, Chesterfield; www.fathomevents.com.) Be there as these giants of witty, cinematic repartee take on giant space insects, and judge for yourself whether Paul Verhoeven's bugsploitation extravaganza is impervious to snark. As the film is an incisive political satire dressed up as an interstellar war thriller rather than RiffTrax's preferred straight-up bad-movie fare, it just may be. Turn off your cell phones and please don't talk during the movie because everybody else wants to hear those other guys talk over the movie. Tickets are $12.50.
