Tani Sushi Bistro features the expected selection of nigiri sushi, sashimi and rolls both familiar and unique, as well as a few appetizers and non-sushi entrées. The nigiri sushi is uniformly very good: the texture supple, the rice well seasoned and packed neither too loosely nor too tightly, the wasabi a hint rather than a bludgeon. A standout among the distinctive rolls is the "Memoirs of a Geisha," which highlights the sweet flavor of tempura-fried soft-shell crab. The restaurant nicely manages to straddle the fine line between hip lounge vibe and casual dining experience.
