Tater Salad?

Sure, we’d love some

If you have basic cable, you’re familiar with Ron White. Comedy Central showed that Blue Collar Comedy Tour special incessantly for a few months there. And you know what? We stopped to enjoy a little “Tater Salad” every time it was on. White’s a natural storyteller, able to make old comedic territory -- such as the ex-wife’s snooty family, being a single parent or the bibulous indiscretions of youth -- engaging and hysterical simply through his use of language. His career-making bit, “Drunk in Public,” is a blockbuster monologue delivered with an actor’s sense of timing and a satirist’s eye for the ridiculous. White lights up the Fox Theatre (527 North Grand Boulevard; 314-534-1111 or at 7:30 p.m. tonight. Tickets are $37.50 to $47.50.
