Textile Arts: Unspooled!

With the participation of seventeen galleries, the St. Louis art community weaves together the best work from national and international fiber artists to present the biennial Innovations in Textiles exhibits. On Sunday, August 19, the St. Louis Artists’ Guild (2 Oak Knoll Park, Clayton) is kicking off the fabric fun with an opening reception from 1 to 3 p.m. From the creamy collar of Jamie Dack’s Felted Coat to the hem of the bright dress of Carlene Fullerton’s Gypsy (pictured), the exhibit brings to light an incredibly diverse assemblage of work. The art will remain up at the guild through Saturday, October 6, and admission is free. Call 314-727-6266 or visit www.stlouisartistsguild.org for hours and information on other participating galleries.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: Aug. 19. Continues through Oct. 6, 2007
