The Beach Is...Right Here

We always thought the Chase Park Plaza (212 North Kingshighway Boulevard) had a lot to offer, but now it apparently has a beach as well. How else could the stately hotel-and-more offer a Clambake? The people there must have installed a small ocean out on the patio that appears only on Friday nights during these dinner buffets. When you pay $25.95, you’ll get to revel in the beachy feel as you pile your plate high with all manner of water-dwellers, including shrimp, mussels, crawfish and, of course, New England clams! Corn on the cob, salads, chicken and beef also make buffet appearances. To make your reservations for the weekly dinners, which begin at 5:30 p.m., call 314-454-9000, and visit for more information.
