The Belle of the Balls

The Saint Louis City Open Studio & Gallery (SCOSAG) has been taking its balls to your walls for years. The group’s fifth Wall Ball fundraiser will bring together more than 40 artists who will create art on the spot throughout the event, allowing guests to silent-auction bid on work as it’s being made. Last year’s lineup of creatives offered a wide array of talent, including painters and potters, sculptors and jewelers, multimedia and comic artists — even a hairdresser. Not only is this benefit an incredible opportunity to meet the artists and see the creative process take place, but unabashed attendees can even attempt to influence the direction a particular piece will take. If the color of that cubist reclining nude would clash with your sofa, here’s your chance to speak up! Wall Ball runs from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Third Degree Glass Factory (5200 Delmar Boulevard). Admission is $30. To purchase tickets or for more information, call 314-865-0060 or visit www.scosag.org/wallball.
