Some may say that Javier Mendoza has a voice that compares to birdsong. But since our feathered friends aren’t allowed in most concert venues, no one has ever had a chance to truly confirm this likeness. That is, until tonight. At 7 p.m. the singer/guitarist takes the stage at the amphitheater at the World Bird Sanctuary (125 Bald Eagle Ridge Road, Valley Park) during the Birds in Concert series. Live birds of prey will play a part in the show (as backup singers maybe? Or, perhaps more appropriate, as bodyguards?), and many photo ops are guaranteed. The concerts are free, and the series continues every Thursday in August. For more information about the shows and the birds, call 636-225-4390 or visit
