After a visit in a crowded public place, a series of vignettes unfolds, following the lives of several young Budapest inhabitants: one man wants to set fire to himself on the banks of the Danube but must first find someone to care for his dog; two drunken fishermen tell a tall tale to an incredulous girl; a father is having trouble with the awakening sexuality of his 10-year-old daughter; a girl awakes from a nightmare about her sadistic grandmother; and two girls discuss a man who has disappeared.
