The Game Is Afootlights

Despite his efficiency of mind and spirit, detective Sherlock Holmes has a few flaws — arrogance and misogyny being the most notable. Both come into play in Steven Dietz's briskly paced mystery Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure. This adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's original stories "A Scandal in Bohemia" and "The Final Adventure" pits Holmes and Dr. Watson against the brilliant mind of Professor Moriarty and the seductive lure of Irene Allen. Can Holmes resist a woman as clever as he? Well, it does have "final" in the title. The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis presents Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure at the Loretto-Hilton Center (130 Edgar Road, Webster Groves; www.repstl.org or 314-968-4925) at 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, through Sunday, April 15 (Tuesday through Sunday weekly). Tickets cost $14 to $63.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: March 21. Continues through April 15
