The Godfather

The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra makes an offer that can't be refused: A special night out with the Family watching Francis Ford Coppola's masterpiece, The Godfather. Critics have called this epic crime story about the life and family of Mafia Don Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando) one of the greatest flicks of all time. This special screening retains all of the blood, guts, guns and horse heads of the 1972 Academy Award winner but not the pre-recorded score. The orchestra, which recently won a Grammy, performs music from the film onstage in real time.

7 p.m. Fri. & Sat. and 2 p.m. Sun. (Mar. 27-29). Powell Symphony Hall (718 North Grand Boulevard; 314-534-1700 or $30 to $75.
