The High Cost of Living

Jan 27, 2011 at 4:00 am
Arthur Miller's family drama The Price tells the story of two brothers who reunite to deal with the possessions left behind by their late parents. One brother sacrificed a promising career to care for his father after the crash of ’29 wiped out the family fortune. The other brother followed his muse and went on to earn his own millions. In the cluttered attic of their childhood home, the brothers wheel and deal with an appraiser, but The Price isn’t really about the cost of furniture, its about the price paid for the choices we make in life. Avalon Theatre Company presents The Price at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday (February 3 through 13) at the Crestwood ArtSpace (Watson and Sappington roads, Crestwood; 314-531-6482 or www.avalontheatre.org). Tickets are $20 to $30.
Thursdays-Sundays. Starts: Feb. 3. Continues through March 13, 2011
