The Jingle Bell Bach

Mention Christmas-related activities to Mr. Night and you're liable to get a Cuban boot up your stocking — but even Night can spare some love for the Yuletide tradition that is the Bach Society of St. Louis' Christmas Candlelight Concert. Under the direction of conductor Dennis Sparger, the golden throats of the Bach Society Chorus perform the Christmas section of Handel's Messiah; in addition, they voice traditional carols accompanied by a beautiful candlelight procession and the Archdiocesan Children's Choir. The venue is, as ever, glorious Powell Symphony Hall (718 North Grand Boulevard; 314-534-1700 or www.bachsociety.org), and tickets ranging from $25 to $60 can be obtained at www.slso.org/events. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday (December 19 and 20).
Tue., Dec. 19; Wed., Dec. 20
