Adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's timeless jungle adventure. Mowgli, an orphan raised by wolves and befriended by all the wild beasts. When Mowgli returns to his native village as a young man, he discovers the strange ways of mankind. He then meets Mahala, a village beauty, and enchants her with tales of his animal friends. Together they take a magical journey through the jungle to the treasure-laden ruins of a lost civilization. When the other villagers learn of the treasure, they are overtaken by greed and fall prey to the terrifying laws of the jungle, setting up a confrontation between the civilized villagers and the untamed man-child.
