The Kids Are Alright

Every day countless curmudgeons shake their fists at young whippersnappers, demanding they get off their lawns. Luckily for them the Saint Charles Riverfront Arts organization is giving middle and high school kids something to do other than bask in boredom and mischief. Every Tuesday night from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., the SCRA hosts a Young Artists Workshop led by Lindenwood University students, alumni and working artists at the Grand Opera House (311 North Main Street; St. Charles). The adolescent artists are given their choice of painting, drawing or sculpting sessions during these visits, which are ongoing through Tuesday, April 24. Afterward, pieces from the workshops will be selected for the SCRA Spring ArtWalk. For more information, call 636-399-5345 or visit www.slfp.com.
