The Missing Ingredient Is You

The spring food event put on by the Riverfront Times, this year dubbed Iron Fork, is a fabulous eating extravaganza, and Ms. Day isn't just saying that to earn her paycheck. After all, during last year's sampling sensation, Day learned she liked beets, loved flavored flan and enjoyed washing them both down with lots of wine. But what will she discover this time around? The lessons are bound to be endless with free wine, beer and cocktails and 30 restaurants offering up their best dishes to taste — and these are great places, too, like Copia, Savor, Chá Yoon, Bevo Mill and Sekisui Pacific Rim. Plus, the chefs from Balaban's, Vin de Set, Niche and Monarch square off in a cooking competition fit for TV! All of this culinary greatness runs from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Ritz-Carlton (100 Carondelet Plaza, Clayton). To be a part of the action (and to see Ms. Day in action), visit www.riverfronttimes.com to buy a ticket ($20 in advance), or just show up at the Ritz with $25 in hand the day of the event; a portion of the proceeds benefits the St. Louis Area Foodbank.
