The Paper Is the Art

Clearly, summer is the time when the crafty get busy. That's Paper!?!, the St. Louis Artists' Guild's new exhibit, allows the members of the Weavers' Guild of St. Louis to show off their talents. As art supplies become more closely scrutinized for their sustainability, paper artists remain extremely resourceful with their chosen medium. That's Paper!?! showcases objects made from recycled paper, paper scraps re-purposed into fiber and new handmade paper that is further transformed into surprising creations. The exhibition opens with a free public reception from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, August 23, at the St. Louis Artists' Guild (2 Oak Knoll Park, Clayton; 314-727-6266 or www.stlouisartistsguild.org). That's Paper!?! remains on display through Sunday, October 20, and the gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: Aug. 23. Continues through Oct. 20, 2013
