The Purina Pet Parade Brought Happy Pets to Soulard [PHOTOS]

The 29th annual Purina Pet Parade returned to St. Louis' Soulard neighborhood this weekend and everybody came out to celebrate. The weather was unseasonably warm for St. Louis in February and people were ready to get out into the streets.

The Purina Pet Parade serves as the unofficial start to the Mardi Gras season each year and this year. This year, the costumes seemed better than ever with many pets and their parents sporting matching clothes as they walked in the parade.

And even though it was a full day of fun, one of the most highly-anticipated event happens near the end of the day. The Tito's Vodka Weiner Dog Derby is one of the cutest things in St. Louis. These pictures of wee hotdog pups are one of the best things we've seen all year.
