The Rep's WiseWrite Festival isn't just for kids.

Grade-A local performers get in on the act.

WiseWrite Festival

WiseWrite Festival

Hard to believe that the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis' WiseWrite Festival is eleven years old. That means it's now as old (and, one hopes, as wise) as the fifth graders who write the plays that get staged. If you've never attended WiseWrite, you're missing out on a unique annual event in St. Louis theater. This year eighteen short plays written by grade-schoolers will be treated with the utmost sincerity (and a lot of fun) by the professionals in town, including the grade-A likes of Alan Knoll, Ben Nordstrom and Walt Reichert. And it's free! No reservations necessary. Just show up at the Loretto-Hilton Center (130 Edgar Road, Webster Groves) on Friday, March 6, at 9:30 a.m. and be prepared to embark on flights of fancy.
