The Willie Akins Jazz Festival

The 2nd Annual Willie Akins Jazz Festival – honoring one of St. Louis’ most influential jazz musicians and educators. All the proceeds of this event go to the Willie Akins Scholarship Fund at Webster University which will help supplement the tuition of jazz students based on need. Willie gave most of his life to the art form and mentoring young jazz musicians. This festival is a testimony to that very legacy as most of the performers in this event are former students and band-mates of the late, great, master, Willie Akins!
