In the beginning, John Flansburgh and John Linnell created They Might Be Giants, which begat a self-titled debut and sophomore triumph, Lincoln. And in the eighth year, the duo said, "Let there be Flood." And Flood begat "Birdhouse in Your Soul," which begat "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)," which begat "Particle Man." And the great Flood begat two more decades of charming, nasally voices and consistently clever lyrical topics that are sometimes goofy, sometimes educational, but never dated. And due to the timelessness of the band's humor, Flood remains fresh fun for this — and future — generations. And Flood shall be performed in its entirety at the Pageant, for They Might Be Giants hath looked back upon the album that defined its career — and it was good.
