Tim Schall

A few years back, Tim Schall appeared in a production of Smoke On the Mountain as Stanley, the prodigal brother who has returned to the Sanders Family singing group a chastened man. Schall captured the slightly lost, mournful Stanley perfectly as an actor, but it was his performance of "Everyone Home But Me" that defined the character. The melancholy longing that Schall found in the song is a hallmark of the Irish ballad, so expect great things -- sorrow and joy -- from his St. Patrick's Day-themed cabaret show, When Irish Eyes are Smiling. The show is performed at 10 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday (March 15 and 16) at the Sheldon Concert Hall (3648 Washington Boulevard; 314-533-9900 or www.thesheldon.org). Tickets are $12 to $15.
