To Cook, Perchance to Eat

As we've pointed out in these pages before, watching cooking shows on television is so unsatisfying. You can't really follow along since nothing is happening in real time (and you don't have four ovens), and you're denied the best part: the tasting. Minions Café (7322 Manchester Road, Maplewood) seeks to right these wrongs with Cooking with Marge, a one-woman comedy cooking show that you enjoy post-dinner (dessert is served during intermission). Marge, played by Linda Spall, shares her recipes and funny food-preparation tips, plus you get to eat some of Minions' yummy home-style cooking. The show happens on Friday and Saturday nights through Saturday, March 17, and the whole evening of fun food fellowship costs you $35. Call the restaurant at 314-781-4800 to make a reservation; dinner begins at 7 p.m., and the show takes place at 8 p.m.
Fridays, Saturdays. Starts: Feb. 16. Continues through March 17
