Tonight We Ride

Aug 7, 2014 at 4:00 am
Start resting up now, because the Moonlight Ramble is upon us. This late-night bicycle ride through the streets of St. Louis is a non-competitive, family-friendly event for cyclists of all ages and ability levels. Registration starts at 9 p.m., with the traditional pre-race hoopla (vendor area and live entertainment) to get you psyched up. And the route? Well, it's a secret, but riders will be given that sensitive information 48 hours before the ramble; all we can tell you now is that you'll have both a short and long option (ten miles vs. eighteen miles). There is, of course, an after-party from 1 to 3 a.m., because you're already up so you may as well ride that cyclist's high till daylight. The ramble starts at 12:01 a.m. at Busch Stadium's parking lot C (Eighth and Cerre streets; www.moonlightramble.com). Registration costs $10 to $50, and Hostelling International USA is this year's beneficiary.
