During the confusing, sexually-frustrated '50s, the rock 'n' roll-starved youth of America (especially a certain beautiful and sheltered gal named Allison) pined for Wade "Cry-Baby" Walker. John Waters’ ridiculously campy 1990 film naturally evolved into a musical, thanks to a wealth of love, humor and outlandish songs (e.g. "Girl, Can I Kiss You With Tongue?"). Of course, the stage production of Cry-Baby is sans Johnny Depp, but tears are tolerated and even encouraged at this show. Cry-Baby runs from Thursday, March 1 through Saturday, March 24, Thursday through Saturday evenings, at the Washington University South Campus Theatre (6501 Clayton Road, Clayton).
