Twiggy the Water Skiing Squirrel Splashed Into St. Louis [PHOTOS]

Twiggy the Water Skiing Squirrel splashed into St. Louis this weekend for the Home and Garden show held downtown at the America's Center.

The original Twiggy was rescued by Chuck and Lou Ann Best in 1979 after being blown out of it's nest during a hurricane in Florida. Chuck and Lou Ann helped nurse the squirrel back to health, and Twiggy became a treasured family pet.

Chuck and Lou Ann bought their daughter a remote controlled boat as a gift, and they wondered if they could teach their new pet to water ski. They were met with great success, and hit the road to show off Twiggy's talents.

The legacy has continued with their son Chuck Best Jr. and his girlfriend Toni Marie Tedesco as they help rehabilitate injured and sick squirrels, and train them to ski on the open water. Twiggy and his friends will be showing off their stunts at selected times throughout the weekend during the Home and Garden Show, which guests are encouraged to view.
