Vegetarian Cuisine

This pioneering Washington Avenue restaurant serves all-vegetarian dinners -- chicken-fried portobello mushrooms with mashed potatoes and gravy, anyone? -- from 6 p.m.-midnight and is the sister establishment of next-door lunch place the Hungry Budda. Beware, though -- Tangerine takes on a completely different atmosphere at night, when it becomes a hoppin', trendy young hangout bar that wall-screens such films as Young Frankenstein; plays fun, cool music; and serves yummy martinis the colors of Christmas lights.
