While wine and cheese are welcome additions to any event, they don't exactly make for a thrilling atmosphere. If you're looking for something with a bit more flair, cruise over to Third Degree Glass Factory (5200 Delmar Boulevard; 314-367-4527) for its Third Friday Free Party and reception for two new exhibitions. In Auto Bling Revisited Mike Wyatt presents glass cast reproductions of hood ornaments from vintage vehicles. In the concurrent show, Ruling the Road, Larry Hassel captures the sensuality of classic cars in his photography. Performers from Union Avenue Opera and Salt of the Earth will aurally entertain beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is free, but bring cash to partake of frozen treats from Frostbite Gourmet Ice Cream, al fresco snacks from Chef Heidi and boozy refreshments from the cash bar. Not enticing enough? Other festivities include fire-spinning and a car-club meet-up to further the theme. The party begins at 6 p.m. and wraps up at 10. For more information, visit www.stlglass.com.
