Founding members of Nickel Creek Sean and Sara Watkins created the Watkins Family Hour in 2002 as a side-outlet to try original songs and a few covers that weren’t quite right for the band. The siblings harness an energy and honesty that can only be experienced live.
The Watkins and their childhood friend, Chris Tile, broke out nationally as Nickel Creek, an acoustic ensemble that sold millions of albums, won a Grammy, and toured the world.
The siblings gravitated toward the idea of another album after their calendars afforded them a rare opportunity to write, record, and tour together.
