The idea that art is all around us is sometimes difficult to remember during the workweek, when you’re often sitting in traffic and always worrying about those damn TPS reports. But at Chesterfield Arts’ Art in the Park event happening Friday and Saturday (June 15 and 16) at Faust Park (15185 Olive Boulevard, Chesterfield), all of the varieties of art on display will be impossible to miss. From the culinary arts (food is provided by Wapango, Harpo’s and others) to art demos of painting, jewelry-making, sculpting and more, your eyes will be opened to everything artsy. Plus, bands provide the musical artistry, Dance Inc. demonstrates the art of movement, and the Artist Village art sale ensures you have the opportunity to take some creativity home. The festival takes place from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday (can anyone say “extended happy hour?”) and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday. Admission and participation in craft activities are free; for more information call Chesterfield Arts at 636-519-1955 or visit
