What’s More American?

Whenever the Webster Groves Lions Club members get together, there’s often something on the grill. And all throughout this group’s July 4 celebrations, which happen during the Webster Groves Community Days, the grill is still fired up -- but so are the carnival rides and the fireworks! To eat some tender ´cue, shake it up in your belly a bit (thanks to one of those spinning ride thingamajigs) and then let it all settle as you lie on a blanket watching the spectacular pyrotechnics, just head to Memorial Park (South Elm Avenue and East Glendale Road, Webster Groves) Sunday through Wednesday (July 1 through 4; fireworks go off July 2 through 4). The free festival takes place from 5 to 11 p.m. on Monday, July 2; call 314-963-5600 or visit for additional hours and information about other happenings.
